Texas Abandoned Boats

BoatWiki - Resources

The State of Texas Parks and Wildlife publishes a list of abandoned boats and outboard motors that are in the process of being claimed by private property owners. This allows the boat's owner of record to reclaim it within six months before title is awarded to the property owner.

The listings can be accessed by visiting the WikiLinks for this page. Boats and motors are listed chronologically along with a description and the respective hull identification number or motor serial number. There is also further information and instructions on conforming with the requirements.

Private property owners who are claiming title to an abandoned boat should be careful in following the appropriate regulations in order to avoid liability for an unlawful conversion.
